The clean slate

I don't know quite how I got here. No longer than 6 weeks ago I was in a stable and well paid government job, living in a nice leafy suburb of Sydney's north shore with no real plans. I'm now on a flight to Cyprus, unemployed, of no-fixed-address and half cut after 4 scotch and drys about to watch the original Alice in Wonderland. I'm not really sure how it moved past anymore than an idea, but I'm here now. No remorse, no regrets.

Big thanks to Ali, Amber, Clare Dave and Work Dave for helping me get myself sorted with moving and cleaning. Also a special thanks to the newly wedded Mark and Lisa for helping me out with storage space (even though they don't know it yet, at time of writing...thanks guys).

It turned out to be a crazy week. Finishing work. Wedding. Wedding aftermath. 3 coast trips. Packing. Moving. Catching up with good friends. Running out of time to see friends. Making few new friends along the way.

I'm not complaining, but I did thinks differently this time. I'm usually organised. Usually have a loose plan. This was a patchwork of good timing, good help and just luck but it all works out in the end if you surround yourself with good people.

Looking forward to hanging out with Uncle Tony in Cyprus. Also to getting back into the thick of Europe, not to mention seeing Aunty Nerrille. Maybe take some photos along the way if I can be arsed.

Also, the Violent Soho album is awesome. If by awesome you mean thinly veiled Nirvana references and great production. But it just works. And I'm still listening to Karnivool - Sound Awake. Forgot when that even came out but I still thrash it on trips, goes with the vibe.

EDIT: for those new to my blog I get a bit sweary sometimes, best to skip over those words if you don't like them
