The desert heat hadn't really worried us despite being 30-35 degrees everyday but the second we escaped our air conditioned bubble in San Antonio the humidity hit hard. I'm not sure if it was that bad or we were just unprepared. San Antonio seemed like a really nice place, but we think we really only hung out in 'The Rocks' of the city. That is, the below street level river which winds its way through heaps of restaurants and shops and mostly under the shade of trees. A particular highlight was Schilo's Deli which is famous for its Root Beer. Besides looking legit, the food and service were good and the root beer deserves its fame. I couldn't prise the mug out of Kym's hands, with every sip she looked surprised that something could taste so good.
